The cardboard cover was actually an ugly color, a pale red. But when I put the light on it turned into a beautiful bright red. So I wanted to 'brighten up' the outside for when the light isn't shining. I chose 3 colors and arranged the order so that the light pink button ends up in the red. It will appear as a clear dot in the pattern. With an extra ring at the top I could secure the cords and tie them around. This hood has no bars that I can work with. Regularly knotting without a grip was a challenge with this one because of the height. I liked the wooden stand combined with the red color and it also strengthens the high hood. At the bottom I placed a ring to finish the threads. It has become a mood light for a dark corner of the room.
